Paying it forward

Last night Ryan and I went to dinner at our favorite hibachi grill. I love hibachi, I wish there was a little bit more fire but our cook was super awesome. My favorite part is when stack the onions and make a volcano and then turn it into a train.

A gentleman joined us and he was making small talk we found out he is severely allergic to onions. Due to his allergy they had to cook his food first and separately. He didn't eat until we received our food and when it came to paying the bill the server informed us that he picked up the whole table's bill. Crazy right? We were all shocked and felt a little strange, it was the first time a complete stranger did something so generous. It was completely unnecessary and so unexpected.

I will be paying it forward to someone soon!

Have you ever been given something from a stranger?

Music Wednesday

Music makes my day so much better. I constantly have a song in my head so I figured I would share a song that I can't get out of my head in hopes that it will make your day better too.

This week it is The Lumineers -Ho Hey, its been all over the radio and I must admit I have been love with it for quite a while. For some reason folk music like this really refreshes and distresses me, it brings me back to myself when the world gets a little too crazy.

Enjoy.

Happy New Years Eve!!

The east has just hit midnight while the rest of the states is patiently waiting. Personally, I am sitting at work reading everyone recap of 2012. It hit me that I don't really remember this year. Yes, there are moments that I remember like doing at least one race a month or having fun at a friends house, but my memory is awful and I can't remember if there was anything bad. I guess that could be a good thing but I would rather be able to recap each month, hopefully I will be able to next year. I have a feeling that 2013 will be a great year. It could be that each New Year's Eve is tied with hope for better.

Some of my goals for 2013 is:
  • to be mentally and physically stronger
  • build stronger bonds with family and friends
  • complete a full marathon
  • complete a triathlon.
  • to be healthier
  • start a craft shop
I think my goals are pretty similar to most people and I just hope know I can accomplish them.

Here is a great year!

Kiss Nail and Meal Plan

This week I tried out my Kiss Nail Dress that I received from Influenster. I had been wanting to try these out for awhile but never wanted to spend the money. I received KDS15 which is black with gold dots that create a swirl. Normally, I am not a black nail person but I wanted to give it a try especially since they are suppose to last a week to ten days. Once my nail polish starts chipping (after the first day) I remove it, I can't stand it chipping.

(Another reason why I don't wear black nail polish my fingers look so white)

For my first try I would consider it a success. There are some creases around the edges but overall I like it. They were super easy to apply and then you just file the excess and your done. So far they have lasted through me painting and cleaning so I think they will last. Time will tell.

Here is our menu for the week:

Chicken Tortilla Soup - Rollover from last week

Chicken and Rice Casserole

Sausage balls- Family Recipe

New Year, New Goals

Every year around this time every talks about their New Year's resolution and by the end of January usually the resolution goes out the window. I prefer not set a "resolution" I prefer to list goals that I would like to accomplish this year. Here we go:

Run a race every month

Set up a garden in my backyard

Become physically stronger

Start eating and cooking healthier/more organic

Run a marathon

Paint at least one room in the house

Be more crafty

Go out more

Blog more

A big change this year is to try to be more healthy and to stop being so lazy. At the end of the year lets see how I did.
